BELONGING, EDUCARING AND TEAMPLAY GROUND, was a finalist for the 2007 Copenhagen Index Award, nominated as a project benefiting an entire community.

The 2017 Inspiring School Leader Award

Dr. Alessio Morassut, superintendent of elementary schools in Mirano, Venice, Italy, initiated BELONGING and was awarded the 2017 Inspiring School Leader Award. He received the award with two of his teachers present as well at an international educational conference at St. John’s College, Cambridge University in 2017.

Wise teachers are true sages, and know that once a child “of any age” dares to stretch, reach, and take hold of something new and noble, growth is exponential. Decades of working together has led to deep friendship that reminds us why curiosity drives, and knowing we belong satisfies the thirst for learning. A love of learning and respect for others must flow for today’s learners to want to lead us into a healthy future.
